Black Face [Vogue Paris]

Now I absolutely love the world of fashion. But it kind of breaks my heart to see these images and I will tell you why.

First off, let me give you the definition of what "black face" is.

black⋅face
–noun
1.
Theater.
a.
an entertainer, esp. one in a minstrel show, made up in the role of a black.

It dates back to medival times, when male comedians were made up to look like black males. So, basically in this fashion spread, a white model is made up to look like a black female. The reason why it upsets me is because there are many beautiful black models within the modelling industry that would be able to depict their true skin colour and beauty. If it is so appealing to depict a darker skin tone, they should of called on a model from that particular race to act on. Vogue Paris, It's been done before. Maybe it's the fact that they like the dark skin, but they prefer the white features? Is this racism? Thoughts anyone.
